Segment 1. Segment 1 is the introductory part of the Graduated Driver License program. Students will learn to drive with our professional instructors in both a classroom and a hands-on behind-the-wheel environment. We offer driver training classes year-round. Segment 1.

Segment One Classes are $380. Please note: Beginning September 2021, class fee will increase to $400. We offer highly skilled instruction with a stress free environment. This class is 24 hours of classroom instruction (12 classes, two hours long) and 6 hours of behind the wheel drive coaching and 4 hours of observation.

Once you have completed Segment 1 and held your Level 1 Michigan learner's permit for a minimum of 3 months continuously, you can begin Segment 2 of Driver's Ed. Segment 2 of Driver's Ed must include: 6 hours of additional classroom instruction. Segment 2 written test. Earning a Segment 1 Certificate of Completion For students to be issued a Segment 1 certificate of completion from their driver education school they must successfully complete both the classroom AND driving instruction portions of the course, AND the written test. A student could pass the classroom portion, but fail driver education based on his or her driving skills and not receive a Segment 1 certificate of completion.

We are offering videoconferencing-based Segment 1 and Segment 2 classes at multiple convenient time slots via Zoom video conferencing to our current March and April customers. We are limiting our class to only 20 students per video conference link to make sure our instructors can keep the students engaged, so please sign up quickly for the time that works best for you.
